MOVING? Tips For Making The Move Easy For Your Pet

BEFORE MOVING
- Familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations of the local schools and parks of your new neighborhood.
- Visit your veterenarian before moving.
- Make sure the pets ID tag and chip are up to date.
WHILE MOVING
- Travel with a pet carrier – either a crate or travel kennel. Make sure the carrier is big enough so your pet can stand, turn, and lie down.
- Keep a pet travel kit with you.
- Stay in hotels that accept pets.
- Carry a recent photo of your pet and put important information on the back.
ARRIVING AT YOUR NEW HOME
- Take time to carefully introduce your pet to your new home to make sure it’s comfortable.
- Remove odors from previous pets.
- Return to its daily feeding and exercise schedule.
- Set up your animals bed toys, and bowls in a location similar to your former home.
